An analysis of sexual harassment on Iranian campuses

Consensual sexual harassment on Iranian campuses is getting prevalent; however, this phenomenon has not been examined yet. This study contributed to the area and investigated the sexual relationships shapes, the behaviour of Iranian faculty members and female college students, and the consequences of sexual harassment for the victims, even in its consensual form. Hence, the phenomenological qualitative method was applied to explore the experiences of 10 female graduate students. The data were collected through online in-depth interviews due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In line with the theoretical framework proposed by Terpstra and Baker (1986), the interpretive phenomenological analysis revealed three themes of Onset, Sexual treatment, and After effects. According to the results, the basic needs of the females and the professors’ leering seduced the females to enter into sexual relationships. The results also reflected the academic and psychological consequences of sexual harassment on the victims’ future. The findings have some implications for higher education policymakers, university chancellors, and governmental officials.  相似文献   

‘Teaching’ the path towards university: understanding student access through storied-futures and meritocratic grand narratives

The notion that the stories of our lives shape dispositions towards imagined futures is another lens through which university underrepresentation should be viewed. A storied lens attends to how futures, like university attendance, are storied during childhood to the extent that some youth imagine, and therefore plan, these futures as natural progression. Such was the case for study participants, indicating that childhood stories contain answers for mitigating social reproduction connected to parental education and cultural forces within the home. Examining social mobility through the underexplored storied-futures grand narrative presents unique solutions that lay hidden within the dominant meritocratic grand narrative.  相似文献   

高职院校学习预警平台的构建及其实证分析

开展信息化、智慧化预警工作是实现全面精准育人的重要途径,而预警应用平台无疑是预警工作的有力工具和实践载体,其设计方案应用效果的好坏直接决定着学习预警信息化愿景的达成度。文章在分析高职院校学习预警工作现状的基础上,从工作流程设计、平台框架设计和平台建设方法等3个方面提出了解决方案,并对平台的应用效果进行了实证分析,结果表明:平台的应用扩展了预警范围、提升了预警的精准度和时效性、提高了工作效率,且干预更为灵活、个性化,可为当前高职院校学习危机的实践改革提供新思路。  相似文献

Abstract

In 2016, J. Murrey Atkins Library at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte opened a reservable study room where student parents and caregivers can study with their children on campus. In 2018, the library opened a second family-friendly study room to meet the needs of our growing campus community. To inform the room design, the library conducted a mixed methods research study that included a user survey, an examination of room reservation and usage data, and one-on-one user interviews. 媒介权力对体育媒体传播中女性形象的影响研究*

媒介权力作为第四种权力，影响着媒介形象的塑造。运用文献资料、逻辑分析和理论分析等研究方法，就媒介权力对女性形象的影响进行研究。研究发现，社会责任理论要求，体育媒体有必要塑造健康的女性形象。受媒介权力的正面影响，体育媒体中女性形象的塑造，表现出传播主体多元化、传播内容丰富化、传播途径多样化和传播受众理性化等特征。然而，以媒介缺位、媒介错位和媒介越位为表征的媒介权力异化，塑造了有偏差的女性形象，引发了受众对女性的不合理认知。未来受媒介权力的影响，体育媒体应在全媒介时代背景下丰富女性体育传播媒介，机会均等观念下均衡配备传播主体，性别平等理念下合理发布传播内容，培养理论视域下积极引导传媒受众，以促进体育领域性别平等观念的发展。  相似文献
